Fuel Polishing a waste of $$$$

I have been having issues with algae, so I had the tanks cleaned/polished. I would have been better to remove the pick ups and clean it from the beginning. The fuel pick up comes with a metal screen that gets coated with goo not allowing fuel to flow. All the sucking and filtering of the fuel did nothing! By just running your engine will filter your fuel, not clean the algae from the pick up! The expensive chemicals do not seem to work!
