Sox n' Rays (game 5)

Post by dougl33 »

What a game. I must admit, I thought it was all over last night. Now if Beckett can just be Beckett tomorrow!

Yeah Doug, We sure need a strong showing from Beckett. But the sox bats cant be quiet. They need to give their pitchers some runs. It seems they don't get around to start producing any runs till there are two outs.

Let's face it, we're going to need scrappy at AB's to get the pitch count up early. Seems like the only thing we can hit is the bullpen. Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

Another great game (the Steve Harvey fiasco aside). Beckett was OK, the bullpen was great, and Varitek actually produced.

Sox are going to pull it out in Game 7. Last night they looked like a championship team. Rays are commiting too many errors under pressure. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC 2007 8.1 Crusaders

Well that's that. What a long and crazy season. Can't believe it started way back in Japan in March for the Sox. Congrats to the Rays. Hopefully they'll beat Philly. Shouldn't be too hard as I think the Rays have the pitching for it.

Agreed, great game & series Rays. Garza tossed a beauty (but he's the only guy in MLB that bothers me when he spits, reminds me of a PEZ machine) and we couldn't take advantage of the bullpen. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd be surprised if the Phillies score more 10 runs in the entire series. Guess we need to replace Veritek. Thanks for the memories but he's been buried by the inescapeable sands of time. Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

I thought the Sox would pull it out, or the Rays would self distruct. A Rays-Philly Series doesn't have much appeal. But I'll cheer for the Rays cuz it's their first time ever. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC 2007 8.1 Crusaders

I'll cheer for the Rays because I can't stand Philly.
