Rain water coming in......help!

Post by DemianM »

I am having a hard time tracing a water leak on my 81 FBC, water comes in after raining from behind the right galley, like if it were coming in from behind the refrigerator, and the floor appears wet on the front corner just before the stairs. o far I have sealed the windshield, the air intakes, but I do not know where else to look, any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!

It may be coming on from behind the Bertram plaque on the aft portion of the cabin and then running forward. I know a lot of guys here have had that problem.

Oh, one more place to seal! I will try that and let you know! Apparently the water collects on the other end, though, but my boat is a bit higher in the back since we removed the genset. The other thing I havent sealed is the side windows frame but they are covered in sunbrella fabric with snaps so I dont think water can get inside the windows themselves......

I had a problem with water coming in and dripping on my top bunk. I traced the leak to the triangle piece of glass on the side of the boat. Once I found where the leak was coming from the fix wasn't hard. Buzz
