How do you remove Salon Bulkhead Wall:37 Bertram?
I'm getting ready to repower a 37 Bertram and I wondering if anyone knows how to remove the bulkhead wall. I know there are screws which show all around the perimeter on the outside, but are there any other secrets before we attemp the removal of the wall? Is wall attached to deck on inside, underneath or elsewhere? Your thoughts are appreciated.
If it is the same as the 33, I sure know how. If the 37 has a teak board along the bottom of the bulkhead, remove it You can see the bottom of the bulkhead screwed into the fiberglass lip of the inside floor. If the 37 has a curved board at the top of the bulkhead hiding the top rail mount for a sliding door. Take that off. The top of the bulkhead is screwed in with long screws here. Take the side panels off at the fwd end of the cockpit. the inside edge of the bulkhead is thru bolted with about 3-4 bolts here. Then you have to cut all that 5200 they used to glue it in on top of that. I had to cut the stb. one in half to get mine out. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC
