true 24-26 kt cruise
Doug got it right about the 35B hull and the 33B hull. The 35B is a totally different hull. The 35B was the beginning hull for the later 38B's and then the 37B. They all have a 13'3" beam with almost the same running bottom. I had my 35B on the scales this spring. It weighed 24,500 pounds with no water, 1/4 fuel and no extra junk on board. Fill the tanks, add fishermen and supplies and she goes around 28,000 pounds. My biggest with the 6BT's is the increase in HP comes at an increased WOT RPM. Plus the torque gain is limited. I would look at the 504 cubic inch bolcks to see if they fit. According to my quick look at the deminsions they should. We got the heads back on my 3208Cats. George says I am now a certified 3208 Cat head rebuilder. Yea right I can't even lift the damn things by myself. I still have grease tatooed in my skin and I have to say it was a big job for me. I really learned a lot about wrench turning from George. There is nothing there that is hard; but I could have never done it by myself even with all the service manuals. I may be able to read; but you need experience in the "tricks of the trade" of wench turning. Good diesel mechanics earn their money. The work is stinky, working in cramped spaces, with heavy objects. It's no place for light weights like myself. Oh I am now to "certified Cat wrench turner" yea right!!!! Charlie
