quote:Originally posted by IRGuy I will attempt to post some pics along the way.. Dave.. Do you have any suggestions as to how I should do this? (ie: should I just post pics as part of a message, or do you think there should be some sort of project folder?). Frank, we should make a slide show out of them. What you would do is email me the pics at webmaster@bertram33.com, and enclose some text that describes each picture, then I would post them as a slide show. After that, we could have a Frank's Project forum thread, and everytime there are new pictures added to it, we would just reply to the forum topic so people would know (I will put a link directly to the slide show in the topic also). We can discuss it more in the very near future. Again, congrats! By the way, are you going to sign up for Bertram Pride?

Dave... I can take some as-is pics the next time I am on the boat.. and send them to you. I am able to convert image files to almost any format (jpg seems to be what most people want) and resize them to make it easier for you. Just let me know what format and size is best for your needs. Re: Bertram Pride.. I am looking at several months on the hard if things go as I suspect they might.. but I have been wondering if I (or my wife and I if she is interested) might come by land travel and hook up with you all that way. I haven't broached the subject to her yet.. I sort of did not want to jinx the whole deal by making plans for the future until the boat was mine.. with the boat in the state it is I had made my mind up that if the survey revealed more problems than I expected (which it did) I would have to go back to the owner for another price concession (which he agreed to).. but if he did not budge on the price I would walk away from the deal. My wife actually has never seen the boat.. she knows it a fulfillment of my dream, and if I really wanted it, it was OK with her. By the way.. the name of the boat will be "Phoenix".. as in the bird that was consumed in fire and arose from it's own ashes to live again. I have a confession to make, which I feel comfortable talking about now.. I have learned from experience that it is never a good idea to fall in love with something you are negotiating for.. your mind gets clouded and you become unrealistic about it's value, and usually pay too much for it.. when I first saw the boat I walked away from it, thinking it was so neglected I would be better off finding something else. I was about an hour into the 4 hour drive home and was thinking about the boat.. and I kept thinking "It is a Bertram after all.. it is almost criminal to let such a boat die in the hands of the present owner.. in two or three more years it will be so far gone nobody will want it.. so maybe I should look at it again with the idea of forgetting about the asking price and just make an offer based on what I thought it would be worth." That is what I did.. and when the survey revealed the additional problems I went through the same process again in a way.. and today I own her. If it was any less of a boat than a Bertram I would have never gone back for a second look. I have said this here before.. but for one last time.. Thanks to all of you here who offered to me comments, support, suggestions, and most of all.. encouragement! Your committment to your Berts is infectious! Now I have the affliction you all share! I guess I will call it "Bertritis"! Frank B - IRGuy@aol.com New owner.. 1983 FBC! Finally!!

Frank, the format should be jpg and the size 800x600 or 600x800. As for Bertram Pride, we are hoping that many of the out-of-state B33 owners come by land (or air) and get a room at the Tween Waters Resort. So I strongly encourage you (and the new Admiral) to attend. You will have many questions by then for sure, and nothing quite answers them like being on someone else's boat. Once again, congratulations!
