Are Crusader expenses similiar?

quote:The "Wire Kit-spark plug (8 leads)" part number 84-881698 is $368. Contained in this "Wire Kit" is "Wire-spark plug (Individual)" part numbers 84-888740 and 84-888741, a quanity of 4 each are required at $91.75 each ($734 total). Spark plugs are not listed as being part of the "Wire Kit" and run $16.45 each ($131.60 total). The 8 ignition coils are not included either, and they run $92 or $120 each depending upon your engine serial number. The spark plugs alone list at $134 for a set of 8 at Boatfix.com. It kind of looks like a very expensive engine tuneup or maybe a reason to justify buying a new boat every few years This was copied off the Boat/Useless forum. Does anyone know if all the 8.1s tuneup parts as expensive as Mercs? Al 1978 33 FBC NITES OFF

I would imagine that they are equal....The spark plugs are expensive because they are platinum tipped and supposedly lasts longer . Tim Stamm Photo Finish 1981 33' Bertram FBC
