Boat catches fire in Nantucket Sound

Post by dougl33 »

Apparently a 48 foot power boat from Marblehead, MA (my town) caught on fire in Nantucket Sound the other day. There were 6 people on board and everyone got safely off. http://news.bostonherald.com/localRegio ... leid=93596 Here is a link the Coast Guards Documentation DB: http://www.st.nmfs.gov/pls/webpls/cgv_p ... _in=526344 Unfourtunately it doesn't list the type of boat. Wow, no life jackets? His insurance company must be shaking their head. It never ceases to amaze me how folks just don't seem to understand the danger behind the term "pleasure craft". They think it is all fun and games and get caught unprepared. Not to try and stand tall on my soap box, but no life jackets (and possibly no fire extinguishers?) is just plain stupid. Kudos to the two heros. David Sumich 33 Megabites Huntington Harbour, CA Forum Administrator
