range; fuel consumption
If you've got diesels in your boat then that all sounds about right. I get somewhere between 0.8 to 1.0 gallons per statute mile. Economy varies depending on how much crap I have in the boat, and how much crap growing on the bottom. quote:Originally posted by GMarty It was reading about 16-18 gallons/hour at about 18 knots (loaded with fuel and ice) which seemed low. When I arrived it said I used 18.5 gallons to run about 17 miles. Sure as **** the thing was spot on when I topped her off. Next, I head out fishing about 45 miles south, troll for about 5 hours (at about 7 knots) and return home about 55 miles. I returned with it saying I used about 95 gallons the entirte day. I have yet to fill her, and I hoping it is right, but that seems way way too low to me. Any thoughts on why that thing would or could be wrong? You're right, when trolling they run on fish blood and beer farts. quote:Originally posted by Mikedcabo I thought diesels didn't use fuel when trolling [:p] 1979 33 Bertram SF Phase II Louisiana Sean Burlingham "Island Time" 1987 Bertram 33 SF Melbourne, FL SBurlingham@cfl.rr.com

ok on my flowscan it gives me gallons per hour for each engine ,not combined ,so you have to double that for your total galons per hour consumed ...or flip the port/starboard toggle and combine them.also does your flowscan match what the fuel pump says?the flowscans also have calibrations on the back.
