Glad to have the site, and a very nice job. You are correct in your analysis of the unique features of this boat. It's as large as a Cabo 35, nicely laid out , and as sea kindly as a 33 foot vessel can be. I run mine to the Bahamas a minimum of 8 to 10 times a year, and I am always impressed with it ability to deal with the Gulf Stream. I don't even use an enclosure, since when properly trimmed she is extremely dry. Unfortunately , I may be moving to the Seattle area in about a year, and it just doesn't seem feasable to ship it. I will miss her, and may just look for another to use in the sound. Once again , nice job, and good luck with the site. Extractor

Hey there, nice to have you. I can tell you one thing. Having bought my boat on the West Coast, it was pretty hard to find. Just not that much to choose from. I looked into shipping one from the East Coast, and the feedback I got was anywhere from $7,500 - $10,000, depending on if the carrier was coming or going. Hope to see you around here more, adios. Doug, summer has been fine, 5 trips to the Islands, and all great fishing and diving. However , the fly in the ointment is customs fees have risen, and may rise again on the New Year, and the nonsense with having to travel fifty miles after a trip to clear with INS, is just taking all the fun out of it. Also , on my last trip, two weeks ago , fuel prices at Old Bahama Bay had risen to $3.11 a gal. for gasoline, and with the Labor Day fiasco , it may get closer to $4. Boat ran great, but it may be time to move on. I'm looking at the Gig Harbor area of Wa. State as a possible destination, and if it materializes, I may look for someting with a single engine diesel, like an Albin 32+2, but it won't run in a nasty sea like our 33's do. I'll miss her , but it may be time to do something new. Nice talking to you. Extractor

Ron, I fell in love with the Albin 32 in it's original configuration back in 1989. At the time it was $93,00 equipped & in the water. Albin went upscale & the price went up faster than I could earn it. DougL, had rotater cuff surgery & reduced to left arm for awhile. We took the dinghy over to the Rockmore & then PCYC to check out your new hardtop. They did such a beautiful job of blending it in, I couldn't even see it! (Just being a smart#$%) Who is doing the work & how did you find them? If you get a full enclosure, I would suggest getting clear plastic all the way down. My enclosure has black canvas up halfway & really creates blind spots while docking. 1978 33 FBC NITES OFF

Lobsta, hi, I know what you mean about the prices on the single diesel 32+2 Albins. Out of sight, and yet the hull itself is no match for the 33. I ran over to West End Grand Bahama with an older Albin leaving around the same time, and my old 31 Bert following in my wake. The 31 got there but in a shambles, 5 feet most of the way and close together. The 33 can slide still planeing at 12 knots , and with proper trim can handle those conditions very nicely. The Albin was reduced to sail boat speed, and limped in hours later. Now my understanding is that the 2 extra feet of running surface have helped the newer hulls considerably. What is your opinion of how they run. I know they will be fuel efficient , but I'm willing to bet the advertised cruise of 18 knots is minimal fuel and very lite load. Good luck with your rig, I know you have been putting in the labor from your comments on the 31 site. By the way the Bert dealer in Stuart Fl. that I listed with came out and inspected the boat and he came up with the asking price of 92K. I hope he knows his market , but only time will tell. Al, I got laid off in Jan, was on full severence till June, then picked up a contracing gig that I thought was going to last till the end of Sept. It wound up ending 3 weeks ago. That being said, I decided to hold off on the hard top. We took the boat up to the back side of Cranes beach this weekend. It was great. Hope the shoulder is feeling better. Ron, Sorry to see your contemplating a change, but as they say, all good things come to an end. Regardless, whomever you sell to is getting a hell of a ride. Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC
