Headlight cleaner for windows ?
Headlight cleaner for windows ?
Has anyone tried using headlight cleaner for the cabin windows. My windows don't clean up as clear as they should. So I'm wondering if these headlight cleaner products are a good idea ? Captain Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

What I have to say here might not apply to headlights but this past winter one of my console gauges plastic lens developed a heavy haze on the back of the lens, The gauge hasn't been made for several years and finding a replacement was impossible, so I used a trick I learned long ago (when I was in my 50's!). I removed the gauge and dis-assembled it, then made a thick paste of toothpaste and water, and used this on a clean piece of cotton tee shirt material and rubbed it on the cloudy lens surface. The very fine grit in the toothpaste was able to remove the haze and left a perfectly clear surface. I have used this trick often.. the fine grit of the toothpaste can polish almost any surface. I have polished valve seats and surfaces, plastic items, metal surfaces, etc. etc. You will be surprised at how well this trick works.
