Boat heeling toward port side

Post by hdommert »

It’s been a while since I’ve sought advice but my issues haven’t been outside of my realm of knowledge. All things being equal my Bertram 33’ SF heels or lists, to port, when cruising over 20 knots. That is both engines are in sync at the same RPMs, trim tabs working and no noticeable winds. In fact weight distribution would favor the boat to lean to starboard. When I come off of 20 knots or coasting into the marina all is well. Has anyone had this experience or known of an issue that may cause heeling beyond a certain speed? Thanks,

Mine has a slight list to Stbd primarily because all of the extra storage is on the Starboard side. All my tools, dinghy engine and extra equipment reside on Stbd side. Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA

Over 20 knots they can be easy to heel a bit if some relatively heavy person moves about up on the bridge, other than that , you want to make sure your tabs are both the same. You may have one hanging down a little bit.
