Bertram owners for our 50th Celebration

Post by CB35 »

Got this from Brett the other day. Maybe add it as a Sticky? Hello Charlie, I have sent this e-mail out to all Bertram owners with e-mails in our database. I’m hoping that you can forward this out to your Bertram owners database to ensure that we have covered all of our owners out there. Please forward any responses you get to me. We are getting ready to make the plans but first we need to make sure we will have participation. Please let me know if you have any ideas to ensure a great turnout. We need to start getting the word out. More details will come on the venue and run to Bimini once we have some good interest flowing. We will book the venue within a week or two. Probably the Marriott/Double Tree in Key Biscayne or the Key Biscayne Yacht Club (where I think the Miami-Nassau Race used to start from). — Brett Keating Hello Bertram Friend, As you are one of our tried and true Bertram Yacht enthusiasts, I am writing to you to get your opinion and thoughts for our upcoming 50th anniversary. Participation is our ultimate goal so we want to know if you will join us. Here is the idea… Friday, April 29th Bertram historic gala event and classic Bertram display in Miami. All Bertram owners will be invited to bring their Bertram yacht to be put on display at a marina (to be determined) in Miami for the day. Friends of yesterday and today will join us for a celebration, entertainment and private dinner. Saturday, April 30th Bertram Bimini Start All Bertram yacht owners who have joined us will line up outside government cut with their Bertrams for a classic Bimini start. Video and photography will be taken of this grand event. Even if it is pouring rain, we will do the start to mark this historic tribute to the Miami to Nassau Race. We have thought about going to the new Bimini Big Game Club for the day versus doing the full Miami to Nassau historic run. This is where we need your feedback! You never know what the weather will bring, but we have Bertrams!!! Keep in mind that the Bertram-Hatteras Shootout starts the following Tuesday, May 3rd, so we will continue on to Abaco on Sunday, May 1st for all of those owners who want to continue on and fish for the week. Please let me know if you would attend with or without your Bertram, and give me any other additional thoughts that could help us plan for this next spring. Best regards, Brett Keating Director of Marketing Bertram Yacht 3663 NW 21st. Street Miami, FL 33142 USA

Sounds like a great idea. Not sure how many of us could bring our boats to Miami, but if there was some way we could get lined up with those who were bringing their boats I certainly would be interested. Please keep me in your "Very Interested" file!

Sounds like fun. Note though, there is not a Marriott on Key Biscayne. The only hotel currently operating there is the Ritz Carlton. I believe the Double Tree may be in Coconut Grove, across the bay. We look forward to more on this. Linda & Luke "INDIGO" 1982 Bertram 33 3208Ts

Might be fun. I think the marina just North of the Venitian causeway used to be a Marriott. I'd stay over at the (cheaper)city marina. April 29, the weather can be pretty iffy to get to Bimini. Big Game is fixed up pretty nice. $1.50/ft. I usually stay at Bluewater, but the wife and I talked about trying Big Game again. We have a fair amout of 33 & 35 owners in Southeast Fl. Anyone care to comment? Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC 2007 8.1 Crusaders

Weather patterns appear to change lately but I've crossed the channel in early May without difficulties. Big Game dramaticaly improved. We plan to assist. Jose Jaen "Blue Chip" 1993 33FBC Miami FL

This sounds like it might be worth taking the trip to join in a fun one time celebration. Count me in!
