Quite a story , but as others have said , just take a deep breath as it is not as bad as it seems. Hard to do when the boat is not in the back yard but your gas problem should be just a simple fix. Did you check to see if there was air coming out of the fuel relief valve as you were pumping? I always stick my hand down there as i am pumping at least once because i once had one get clogged on a different boat.I find it hard to believe that fuel came out the top of the sending unit from over fueling unless you really over fueled , if so i would check to make sure the rubber gasket is there. Hard to say getting a new boat what a do-it- yourself owner might forget to replace. Good luck and do not be afraid to ask this group anything.

Gary, everything that can go wrong usually does. The worst is the beating you take from mechanics, etc. I work in this business. To bad I hadn't given you my number. We have a shop in Lantana, just North of the Boynton inlet. You could have come in Boca, or Palm Beach and limped in there. We could have the boat hauled out right there on the spot. And if you need, we can haul it and put it on a truck. There is a lift truck that we use to remove towers, masts and heavy radar arches. Let me know if you want me to help a little. PS we do shrinkwrap too. And have a hauler we use to move customer boats up to Jax to get shipped to Europe. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC 2007 8.1 Crusaders

Tim, nice to see you around again. BTW, I remember when we wre over on the west coast a couple years ago. We were on your boat and you were concerned that your genset wasn't pumping enough water when up on plane? Did you resolve that? If not I may have the answer..... Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. Wow Gene I do remember that issue and that was with my old genset that was replaced. I think it was an issue of there being an air pocket in the top of the manifold and there was a fitting on top to fill that void with water.

Capt. Gene, Thanks for the offer of assistance. It looks like I maybe shipping the boat home. Do you have any good contacts for trucking companies?

Tim, yes that was it. Kohler obviously fixed that issue. I was working on a boat the other day with the Kohler 5E and they had added a kit to bleed off that air pocket. I still have the 7E and have never had the problem on mine. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC 2007 8.1 Crusaders

We have a guy with a new rig. I'll get you the name. BTW, "Yachting Bliss" is down at Bahia Mar. They are about as expensive as you can get. There are a bunch of fuel polishers here. Who knows which they used. Let me check for a tank mfg. in Pompano I used. Hard to tell if anybody is still in Business anymore. Thanks for the offer of assistance. I know the feeling. I had the same cracks you had after hitting a wake about half way to the bahamas from west palm beach. But, I kept smelling resin or what I thought was 5200. After staying in the islands without refueling for a few days I came back accross filling up when I left and tieing up to my dock. A week later I filled up and brought her home only to get that ugly gas smell you are talking about. Since my neighbors 62 Viking and his 2 mil house are about 20 yards from my boat I called boat US and they said they would pay whatever it took to get it out of there. Long story short, I replaced the tank with alum but that is not a ethonal crack that developes there. it is a stress crack from some really hard impact that breaks the tank loose and moves it forward cracking those reinforcment peices on the tank. The 33 is a great boat. replace the tank, run some marvel mystery oil thru the engines and be sure the risers are good. I have run 7 trips to the Bahamas this summer without a hitch other than the price of fuel. Good Luck.
