Insurance
Buzz... I haven't heard anything from my insurance company except a note saying that due to the age of my boat (it is a 1983) they want an out-of-the-water survey done every 5 years, and this is my 5th year with them.

I don't know how much it would cost but I would like to add a rider to take the boat to Florida after hurricane season. But with the buisness climate being what it is. I don't think this is going to be the year that I can take the boat to Florida. Buzz

My Boat US policy didn't go up this year, but I lost the 20% premium discout because I filed a claim for a lightning strike this summer($8500.00). My premiums this year are $1785.00. Insurance is a little nore expensive down hear, but we do leave the boat in the water and use it all year.

In the past getting insurance has been hard because of the hurricane risk and we've been hit many times and I've never had a claim. But insurance companies still pulled out of NC. My policy doesn't cover me in Floirda. It gets cold here but it's ice free. We can use our boats year round too. The BFT season doesn't start until Thanksgiving. Sometimes the wind will blow for two weeks and no one goes out. Buzz
