Have been on the phone with Bill a few times this morning. Boy am I glad that I'm not in the water yet as our marina (and all the boats in it) took it on the chin last night. So far, Bill has no damage but the same cannot be said for other boats. Sounds like we had 4 footers rolling into the marina and bouncing off the seawall to create a washing machine effect in the marina last night. When will it end? Frank, Al, Ron, Rick, Peter, Brian, (and any other N.E. guys I may have missed), How're you guys making out? Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA

Looks like it going to be another case of going from winter right to summer. This is 3rd or 4th time in the last few years that we haven't had a spring. Tim, How's the job market in S. Florida? Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA

Just so happens they launched my boat yesterday! Westbrook CT didn't get the Nor'Easter near as bad as metro Boston. I wanted to check on the boat though and make sure it was secured properly and everything was OK, so I drove up and back after work last night (2 hours each way). My slip is very protected, so even with the stiff wind last night, everything was fine. I just adjusted lines and bumpers a little. Doug, when are you going in? Shoot, if I had 3 days of no rain after work this week I'd be going in tomorrow! Now I have a funeral to go to on Sat and probably more rain on Sun and Mon! I give up! OK, Now that New England is out of the woods on the worst storm we've ever seen in May, How did everyone fair in the storm? Anyone with any damage? My boat is in a very protected marina, which makes me a little happier spending the 5 large for the slip, even so, some boats sustained some small damage, mostly chafing from loose dock lines. I know at Doug and Bill's yacht club the wind and waves were epic and a few boats broke loose from moorings at other harbors around the area. How is everyone doing? Any damage? Frank Price

My jackstands are the best lines money can buy. I guess I'm not to bummed I'm still on the hard. I mean, really, what am I missing? BTW, Bill told me he wound up pulling a few cleats out of the dock and fingers around his boat. He also had a few lines part but no damage. A few boats at our marina sustained minor damage. There was one sailboat (figures) across from Bill that had snapped all its lines but one. The boat was dangling into the middle of the marina on its one line like it was at a mooring. A couple of guys were able to wrangle it back in during the early morning on Wednesday. Major catastrophe averted! Regards, Doug L. 1986 33 Bertram FBC Queen Elizabeth Marblehead, MA
