Mike, That's great. Those pyro temps seem low. Must be a Cat thing as I know the Cummins run much closer to 900+ degrees.

Doug, Your right, they actually run at 875 deg. I checked it out this weekend. Boost still does not seem to work. I hope its the gages and not the turbo's. Did'nt move them to the engine room yet. Ran the boat up to the rocks on sat and limited out on stripers. Total fuel burn round trip, 36 miles with trolling all day, 40.3 gallons. Found that while running at 2400 at 23.7 knots I burn 12.2 gallons per hour each motor. Dropped down to 2350, burn rate went to 11.1 gallons per hour and lost .7 knots. Now thats what Im talking about in fuel saving. Can't wait to run to the canyon and see what kind of results I get. Mike

Charlie: according to Dave (Cat tech) on boatdiesel with my arrangement number all I have to do is adjust the fuel settings to 5.55MM which is .5M higher than they are right now...I just wanna a little higher cruise speed...

Bill, Long story on my situation. Have a seat. In the beginning I installed flowscans, egt and boost and because of the #'s I was getting last yr I decided to redo my props. The reading last yr were when I did not have the before mentioned upgrades. Needed to reduce WOT loaded rpm's by 100 rpm. Geating at that time 2920. These were tacken with the VDO gages and verified with a hand held tach. Adjusted the props from a 21x22 3 cup to a 21x22 6 cup. In the spring I droped here in and was loving life 24 kts at 2400 full tank of fuel 4 guys on board. The heart break was WOT I was only getting 2630 on both motors and my starboard motor wasnt generating any boost. Pull the boat and redo the props to 21x22 no cup. Big mistake. Taking the cup out turned the boat into an 18 to 20 kt boat. The boat wasnt getting over the load curve. Overloaded , smoke, high egt you nome it. Like you are half on plane but turning 24 to 2500 rpm. Found that out on a shark trip that was a 2 1/2 hr ride one way. Longest day of my life. Talked to the prop guy and he said that alot of people try to use the prop adjustments to compensate for engine issues. Lets fix that boost problem first before we get any farther into it. Pulled the exhaust elbow on the stb side and chjecked clearance of the blade to the housing. Spec is no more than .018 clearance. I had over .060, hence exhaust was bypassing the exhaust turbo blade which we know powers the intake turbo blade to increase boost. Since the cartridge was replaced last yr all I had to do was replace the exhaust housing. $1,800.00 later and 3 week lead time later its installed. EGT went from 900 to 810 give or take. The #'s I was getting with the no cup props were better but not where they are supposed to be. WOT fuel tank of gas and 2 guys on board I was turning out almost 2900. Lets pull the boat again and put some cup in put a 4 cup into her. Take the boat out full tank of fuel with 4 guys and I an turning at WOT 2810 give or take. At cruise I am at 23 to 24kts at 2420 rpm. If I bump her to 2500 I am doing a nice 24 to 241/2 kts. Fuel burn is 12.4 gpr at 2500 and 11.4 gpr at 2400 rpm. I am exstremly happy with her now cruise at 2450 egt is alittle under 900 egt. I was told that at 2400 I should be getting 780 egt and some people are getting 825. I dont see how that is possible with my set-up. The bioat is reaching its required rpms through out the spectrum. I plan I getting all the #'s this week end from 2000 up to 2800 rpm. fuel burn, boost and egt readings. Its been a long trip to get her set-up right. Originally she had 21x23 with a 3 cup. She was overloaded for all those yrs. Don't know how long before I got her. Keep you guys posted. Mike
