I have an original ad, with the the text included, from a January 1985 Motor Boating and Sailing, the New York Boat Show issue. The picture was on the inside front cover, and a full page of text, including the quote you used, and other testimonials on the opposite page. Here is an excerpt: Caught flatfooted by a mountainous rogue wave just off Cabo San Lucas shore, Don Bach spun his seven year old 6000-hour Bertram 42' "Whiplash", rammed it up to the thundering wall of water and shot through the crest just as it broke. "Only to see an absolute chasm below us." What do you say when you land....with "not a crack or craze in the hull or structure...no failures anywhere." Just what Don's wife Linda said that harrowing day in '83. "Thank God it's a Bertram."
