Odd odor

Post by richcatch22 »

OK, I know this topic is trouble but here we go. My wife has exceptional senses. We have a odor that we have been unable to eliminate. This is sweet smelling odor. Usually seems more noticable when running the A/C. Have cleaned the A/C ducts, A/C overboard drain lines, Fresh water only in head, Pump holding tank and add chemical every weekend before we leave, cleaned everthing. Any thoughts? I have read about changing the head hoses, but the passed the close up nose test and rubbing with alchol soaked rag and do not have a odor. Thanks......

The only sweet smelling odor (oxymoron) I know of is antifreeze. Other than that, I can't help you out, sorry.

This is just a thought, but, did you check the shower pump sump? Some pretty ugly and scary things can grow in there! I'm in the process of replacing my holding tank vent line, since I noticed a slight odor under the front bunks this spring. Good luck---Doug

Thanks. Shower pump cleaned out. Also outside of head cleaned weekly and solvents used are flushed through the shower pump.

I agree with Justin the only sweet smaelling odor I have ever had on a boat is antifreeze. Did you clean the coil on your A/C? Buzz
