One for Capt Larry

Post by JohnD »

I thought I start a new thread for ya I stumbled on this one the other day, after all 46 is only 4ft longer than 42. Hey it's already got a tower. May be a little under powered but may just reach 20kt cruise. http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/ ... 58229&url=

If I were looking at 46's. I'd start with 1981's and up. 1981 was the year they switched from 8-71's to 8-92's: http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/ ... elected=-1

I like the Cummins, but I think a 20 knot cruise with 450hp is a stretch for that size boat.

Doug, I spoke with a guy who had a B42 with cummins in it and used it for charters out of OCMD and he loved them. I think he said is cruise was 20k but he didn't have a full tower either. With the power-to-weight of today's motors, I don't think I'd want any less than 500hp in a 42. On another note I do like the B43 and later model B46 with the island master and updated interior. I can't believe the prices lately. I just saw a B35 with 370 cummins going for $45k, makes me sick prices this low will kill resale for years to come. http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1974/Be ... ted-States
