Good to Meet You!
My name is Larry Wrenn and I have a Bertram 33 in Islamorada Fl. She is in good working order and is used in my charter fishing company. Any help or advice I can give I will and it is so nice to actually read posts on the things I have fixed or am going to fix. (Theres always a list). Hi Larry, and welcome aboard. I'm glad we were able to get your login info worked out. I fixed your images so they would appear correctly. I hope you don't mind. Your boat is now featured in our member's Images section, and your services are posted under the Charter Services. I even took the liberty of adding your boat image to your signature (you will see it in your next post I believe). Anyway, glad to have you on board, you must certainly have a good number of stories and other great info to share. You will be pleasantly surprised at how active of a group we have (we also get the B35 guys in here), so I hope you can jump right in the fray!

Welcome Larry! Looks like the boat is tied up on the North side of Snake Creek in that photo. You running out of Holiday Isle? I spend a fair amount of time down there. Sometimes you will see my 33 tied up opposite the CG station on that vacant lot. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC

In the charter game the customer are so worried about baot size that I included the pulpit. Helps being the same size as a lot of other boats when you are charging $1100 per day.quote:Originally posted by dougl33 Larry, I just checked out your website. Did you know it states you have a 35 and not a 33? 1982 with cat 3208 260 hp. 2200 hours. Am looking to repower in the next year or so, thinking about increasing hp to 350 per side. Room is a real issue as I am sure you know. Also sort of have a case of biggerboatidus. A 46 would really be nice but the buget it low at this time. In the size class there is no better boat than the 33 bertram, feels like a big boat, does well in snotty seas and is solid as a rock! Now the bad, only one that comes to mind is the roll in a beam sea, tower I am sure doesn't help here. More speed would be great also! If you're thinking about re-powering then you've come to the right place. Most of the diesel re-powers have been with Cummins 6BTA's (300hp-370Hp). A few have re-powered with Yanmars (315hp-370hp). Finally, several owners have re-powered their 454 powered boats with the new 8.1 gas motors. I re-powered with 300hp 6BTA's last year. Cruise with the old Merc 454's was 18-19 knots at 30-32gph. New cruise is 23-24 knots at 20gph. A big difference to say the least!
