GENERATOR #4
GENERATOR #4
well guys i am about to eat my GLOCK.40, i tried the duct tape deal and my genny still cut out under power i guess i will be installing a SUPER BLOWER or blowers this week to see if that will cure my suicide tendency. Any other ideas to save this bert owners life ??? Pete
If it makes you feel any better, I have to replace my 7.0 genny's rear end or the entire generator part. When it starts, it makes like 70 volts and then smokes. Replacement for a re-manufactured generator (not engine) is $1100 and I have to install it. O yea, and it only had 100 hours on it.

At this point, I think I would try a new sensor. I know sometimes the heat sensors take a dump. And the machine is runnig cool. The Co sensor sounds like one of those things that could go south easily. Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC

Doug, My genset was a regular one. The low emission ones were available at the time but a lot more money. Like the electronic diesels, the new high tech. stuff is great until something gives trouble. Also like cars these days, always some light on the dash telling us to do something..

Pete, Did you ever put a wrench on the hose clamps for the mufflers? Have you ever had the deck up? Most of us that have had the deck up have noticed that the clamps have slid back from the mufflers a little. That could be where your exhaust leak is. Are you positive that the velocijets aren't the issue? They may look like they're up tight against the hull sides, but if there's a break in the adhesive you'll get fumes in the bilge.
