Gerard, I installed a SL 900 FF 6 years ago. I also upgraded to a 35 lb Delta type anchor. One time I snagged a lobster trawl in over 100' of water. The windlass was able to lift the anchor, chain & rode & the entire trawl to the surface. I've snagged other trawls since then, but not in water as deep. Al

Gerard, We should hook up sometime, I'm on the North Dock at GP. Checked out your boat over the weekend while on one of those glorious moments of taking a walk with the wife. Freedom is looking good but it looks like you're doing some fly bridge work ? I think one of the biggest challenges with installing a windlass in our boat is the storage space for anchor rode/chain. There's just not a lot of room in there and I think we'd be talking about shortening V-berth space. Rick Ticket 85 SF Merc 454 MPI's Falmouth, MA
