center bilge pump

can anyone tell me what the original configuration for the center bilge where the 4in trough is.

There's a water puppy type pump mounted to the plywood sole over the water tank with hose running down to a bronze strainer in the sump. Ithink that's what you're referring to. BR, Alan.

Mine had one of those diaphram type pumps. After the second one got tired I replaced it with a water puppy type. The nice thing about the diaphram pump is it can run dry forever or until the 8D runs down. Charlie

i run mine manually and boy does my bilge dry out after that. The pickup is way down in the crotch of the bilge and almost completely gets all the water out of my bilge. Pete
