Haven't posted in a while. Big scramble to get the boat ready for the Abaco trip. So ..the carpet guy showed up finally. I put this new carpet underlay soundproofing under it...good move. Can hardly hear a thing. Cost more than the carpet though. Door got installed..threw the Bertram door in a construction dumpster. I have rollers and other new parts...any takers? So off we went for 2 1/2 weeks. Boat ran flawlessly. And this new electronic sync-n-cruise made it even better. I haven't figured out the the total yet, but I managed to keep the engines burning about 14.5 to 15.0 per hr. At that rate, I was getting 21.5 kts. Once I burned off fuel that went up to 22 -23kts. Depending on sea condidtions. There was no oil consumption that I noticed. However, I remember Tim saying he had black soot around the exhaust. I had that too, but seems to be getting less. Everybody thought it was a diesel boat. Tim did that finally just go away? Got to go back to work.... Gene Dugan Boca Raton, Fl. "Nauti Marie" 1989 33 FBC

Hey Gene....your trip sounds great and the engines sound like they are great as well. I wish I was able to do 10% of the things to the boat your able to do yourself! Having to find people that one can trust is hard and they all have to make a living too I suppose. If you have any pics of the things you did during the repower, it would be fun to see. Wish we could do a 33 Rally this year.

I still get the black soot there thanks to the velocejet. How was the abacos? does your gauge give you the kmpg as well , like my flowscan does?

Hi Chris...I did take a bunch of pictures on my daughter's camera. Still haven't got her to download yet. I was pretty busy. I though Ed was doing a 33 get together for 2007 on the SE coast ??? And Tim..the Murphy PowerViews can do almost everything. I have operator problems trying to figure out how to program them. They will show engine hrs., fuel per hr., and they have a trip fuel. I have only figured out the gal/hr display. So you would think they can do all the rest somehow. I am going to have to call the helpless desk. The Abacos was crowded. Too many people. Too many SeaRays and 20 somethings and their trp outboard open fishes. MOW was the only quiet place down South. Spanish was still the best fishing/diving. And from Spanish I did some day trips up to Allans-Pensacola & a few other anchorages with nobody around. Still need to do a Bimini trip and a Keys trip if I can find time & money.
