OVER HANG AND SALON HAND RAILS

Post by TIM »

[?] THE NEW 39'S HAVE A HAND RAIL THAT RUNS DOWN THE SALON'S ROOF. HAS ANY ONE DONE THIS ON THEIR 33 S.F. AS WELL IT IS INSPIRING ME TO PUT ONE ON THE OVER HANG BEFORE YOU ENTER THE SALON. I THINK IT WOULD BE GREAT FOR THOES ROUGH TROLLING DAYS. THOUGHTS? TIM JESSUP 79' 33 S.F.

Tim, The 33 convertables I've seen also have the rail down the center of the salon . I think they look very cool with these but am a bit worried about head room,as the SF's don't have quite as much as the Converts.I'm six foot or so and find I have to duck entering the salon as it is , so if I did one it would have to be pretty low profile but I'm still considering it for when I run out of other , more expensive projects. Yes the 3FBC does have the rail in the center. Very solid. Caught my 13 yr old hanging on it without his feet on the floor. So it won't come down easily. If it's rough, it helps to hang on, for getting rods out of the rod rack, and beers out of the fridge. It hangs down about 3-4 inches. E.W. Dugan

I have 2 rails that are above the inside edges of the engine boxes on the overhang. I thought they all came like that! As far as inside the salon, a rail going down the middle would sure look good in teak but would cause me alot of pain hitting my head on it. The roof is just to low to add that. Good idea though. Stu
