Okay Gents....got a few pic's. Will keep it short & simple. We really didn't have to do too much cutting with my boat....just forward & aft of the tank. The killer was braking the seal of bonding on the very bottom of it. So here's a 1-2-3. Al is the gas tank expert now. I know what I'm going to do if and when my tank needs to come out, Al's gas tank service! Oh yeh, Al, I see a bright future for you in the marine service industry. Been on TV and everything. All joking aside, Al, you da man.

Hi Frank B, Yes, I always thought that they should be as close to the fitting coming out of the tank. However, on my sportfish, they were (& still are) attached to the stringer (I presume at the factory) near the right rear mount of each engine. Gerard FREEDOM 86 SF Marina Bay Green Pond

The picture above is very helpful, however what is the comealong attached to? I read somewhere else to place a beam across somewhere(?) to lift the tank out. Is the cockpit floor strong enough? Obviously it isn't attached to a beam in this picture. I assume it's a yard forklift. Is it possible to do it without the forklift?

Why so high? Just because of the comealong? I have a chain comealong, seems like there would be plenty of height. One more question (almost ready to pull it out). How heavy is the empty tank, just figuring how many people are going to be needed to lift it out. Thanks
