winter storage for fuel tank

Post by modick »

I have a 1988 B33 with an aluminum tank. I have been using the new E 10 fuel this summer with no problems. However , I can find no local concensus on whether to leave the tank full or near empty for the winter. I have been adding a fuel stabilizer (Star-tron) and will for the storage. Any thoughts on full or empty? Dick Fraser

How did you end up with an aluminum tank? Empty would be the best, but who knows what you'll be getting in the spring from the gas dock anyway. Probably the same old stuff you pumped out of your boat in the fall. Bill 33 FBC Ipswich, Ma.

E10 has a shorter life than reg. gas, so I would say use it up and leave your tank dry.
