What are you using for anti-virus ?
It's time to re-boot my main computer at home - filled with junk. So a nice, new re-boot should do the trick. I've got the data backed up. But I've been using McAfee for the past 2 - 3 years. They're a pain, expensive and let all the jumk in there to begin with ! So what have you been you using and who's da man in anti-virus/spyware these days ? I use Norton 360. I have 4 computers and a notebook on it. The only issue I had with it, was my Son downloading tons of crap finally shut the desktop down. I loaded up a program called "Stopzilla" on top of the Norton to keep it cleaned up until he went off to school in Aug. and then I took it off, becuz it slowed the system with 2 anti-virus programs in it. On a side note(sorry), buy one with your Capital One credit card and the warranty is doubled. That goes for anything you buy with a capital one card. What ever the manufacturer warranty is, they double it. Plus, my sons IPhone got stolen at Umass a couple weeks ago and since it was less than 3 months old they bought him another one. Never knew there where so many benefits with a capital one card. PLUS, when we were in Napa and Sonoma last weekend you get FREE wine tasting for two with the card at dozens of winery's. Which are usually 10-25 dollars a piece at each winery. Which adds up quick when your hitting 20 in one day. I sound like a commercial but I was very surprised with their services. Good info I guess for when you purchase items for the boat.

Guess I just wanted to close the loop on this one. After talking to many people, I decided to do a total re-boot and use the free Norton software from Comcast which works OK. The key here is to re-boot and clean everything up, then set a system restore point with squeeky clean registers. This particular computer is 6 years old, but is very well equipped and it was worth it to clean everything out. Runs a lot better and faster now......we'll see what next week brings !
