SCREEN DOOR

Post by FidelityJim »

We've had FIDELITY ('88 FBC) for about 12 years and never had a screen door for the main cabin, only a velcro panel. Before I re-invent the wheel and build a horizontal bi-fold, teak framed door with lift off hinges (to store behind the settee). Does anyone have a simpler set-up that they'll share? My boat has no provision for a screen door; did any of the 33FBCs have them? A picture is worth a thousand words! Thanks-in-advance. Jim Hart

My last boat had a screen with canvas around the edges that snapped on. It worked but I never used it. Buzz

You're welcome. Nope. No OEM screens on the doors.

To All; Our 87FBC has a no-seeum mesh sewn to sunbrella border that snaps to the inside of the teak door jam. It folds up nicely. The forward hatch and the side sliding windows have more traditional screens in frames. FL has more bugs per capita. Lynn

Lynn, That's exactly how mine works, but I never use it. When we're anchored the wind usually keeps the bugs away, besides we need the A/C all summer long. It's hot in NC. Buzz
