Boat Stands

Post by Prater »

I was planning to buy Brownell's Boat stands for our 33 and have them shipped with the boat. Can you recommend the height and how many you use when setting your boat in the yard?

Bottom blocks under the keel are somewhere around 2' tall and the stands are about the same size base with the screw-jacks extending another foot or so. 3 stands on each side.

What Joe said, though you could just do 2 per side.

So the 25"-38" should work, the front ones look like they are at the max...do you think going up a size for the two front stands would be a good idea? My last location had all the boat stands we would ever need but out here there is nothing to be found...

I'd always err on the side of caution and go with "bigger is better." These boats are heavy even without a full fuel tank.

The blocking is what does most of the heavy lifting. The stands are just there to keep her from tipping over.

We have plenty of dunnage, I do have to use the stands to adjust where I place the blocks on the keel if I am working around them. We have to rent a crane service to lift our boats, no marina services where I live...
