Re: Lights for interior? LED vs incadescent?

You're probably better off just replacing the entire assembly rather than finding those parts. I would thin k someone like Defender, Hamilton marine or Jamestown Distributors would have something that works

Re: Location of fuel filters

Hey Chip,

Wow - that's a lot of recovering to do, good for you getting int here to get back to boating. I would make accessibility the top the priority to the filters. As long as you're not right next manifolds or anything else that is extremely hot, you should be ok.

Re: Tach's

Jim,

I should do the same as I have 3 gauges that do not light up night. I just haven’t got around to it. If you would, please post a pic of the new panel.

Thanks!

Re: Tach's

Now that I’ve done it a couple of times, removing the instrument panel is a piece of cake. I can do it in less than 15 minutes and the access is much better. My problem was the Tach itself....only lasted 3 weeks but they are replacing it at n/c.

Re: Wisdom from the 33 SF Owners

Plenty of Freeboard on these, I built steps to climb over the gunnel for entry and our docks are about a foot above the water.

Re: Tach's

The story is not over.... Last week my port engine died, no spark. The Coil & the Pick-up coil were fried. The engines are 20 years old so I didn't think much about it and replaced the parts. Put the engine back together....no spark. Replaced the start relay...no spark. Replaced the distributor ...

Re: Tach's

I've got to follow up by thanking everyone that responded and especially Rich. I did end up using that Mortite Caulking Cord to seal the instrument panel and that's exactly what it is ! Since then, I've used it for sealing my outside bulkhead & underneath a ledge in a shower at home. It's really...

Re: 33 FBC Family Fishing/Cruiser?? Newbie

I'm still interested in his other question: "what do you do for maintenance ?". It's got to be far less than my 454's... 1. Remove Exhaust manifold's and clean the build up every 2 years. 2. New Plugs, Cap & Rotor every year. 3. New Spark Plug wires every 2 - 3 years. 4. Raw Water pump...

Re: 33 FBC Family Fishing/Cruiser?? Newbie

Doug, Don't take offense to my comment(s). I still think the 6BTA's are the best engines for our boats to have. No, the Doug that had your engines prior to you put Bosch's in his 370's. I am downwind from his boat in our prevailing SW wind and he's the kind of guy who will start his engines at the d...

Re: Swim Platform

Thanks Bill, Upon further investigation it appears that one of the wood screws is going into the stringer (which is still solid), the other was going into the rudder deck, which has rotted out against the transom (next winter's project!). So I'm going to clear that out and through bolt with a piece ...
