I went with the (3) DEKA 8A/8D AGM batteries. They had very nice specs and I got a fairly decent price per battery $585. Got them all wired up last weekend and eberything seems to running well. I will take it out for the real test this weekend.

I actually just had the dripless shaft seals replaced and this is what started this whole process so switching shaft size probably isn't a viable option.

Bob, I will keep that in mind as this story plays out. If I switch to 1 1/2" shafts I would need two new props as well. The prop I have now is only a year old so I'm hoping not yo have to replace the starboard side.

I need a port side new shaft. Cat 3208T with 1 3/8" shafts. Are there better brands than others? Any advice would be appreciated.

Has anybody used a substitute "synthetic" material to replace the wood along the transom, rails, and ladder on their boat? I want something that looks good and is mostly maintenance free.

Hello, I'm chasing down an oil leak in my bilge. I think I identified it as coming from the oil cooler area. I drained the coolant out and took off the cover to the oil cooler. I don't know the location of them yet to check. From the research I've done there are probably one in each Heat Exchanger and possibly a couple more. I will check with the CAT parts place tomorrow.

I may need to find a manual. I don't believe it was included with all the other component manuals. I bought a parts manual for the engines, but it doesn't list the zincs.
