Happy Thanksgiving. The different carb gaskets were used depending on the manifolds. Flat carb mount got one style, angled carb mount got another. Some were with open spread bore, some were partitioned off between the primary (small) and the secondary (larger) carb barrels. The fact your RPM's jump ...

Good Samaritans and Coast Guard

I found an article on line about a 48 Ocean six pack charter that sank off the coast of Maryland. The "Always Late" went down in daylight in relatively good weather with all aboard safe. There are some excellent photos and a YOUTUBE video of the boat going down and the salvage after. Page ...

Termites, that is part of Florida. Remember that drywood termites have no waist, ants do have a waist, so if the body is the same width all the way down, you may very well have termites. If you see tiny golden brown droppings that look like cofee grounds, it might be termites. You can spot treat the...

Coast Guard at it again

Today's Asbury Park Press has a few great shots of the Coast Guard running out the Manasquan NJ inlet on its way to help a sailboater. That is the same inlet that Mike's photo of Shot n' Beer is seen running in better weather. Look at this rescue boat nose up as it takes a wave on its way out: http:...

Get you a vacuum gauge and hook it up to raw vacuum from the manifold. Read the inches of vacuum and whether the gauge is steady, or pulsating at idle, then at incrased RPM's. Crack your throttle open to about 3000 RPM, hold it steady, and read the gauge. Then, let the RPM's drop back and see what t...

Or, you can go to your local Home Depot and get a "shark grip" tee fitting and push the lines on with no tools and forget about it. The shark grip fittings work like the old chinese fingers and grip until you release them.

Maybe you could hang a basketball hoop and backboard on the tower and the current guy in charge would go out on the boat with you... I have been to the IFGA museaum in Dania. Had a great time, If anyone is ever in that area it is a great afternoon trip. Plus, you can run next door and unload your wa...
