Frank- IMHO, what you select should depend on how your planning to use the bank. If it's just for starting, there are many good choices. If you have any more demanding house/inverter loads, I would not go for a combination battery. Have you considered twin 6V golf cart batteries?

John, I would recommend side exhausts if you can. In addition to the the station wagon effect for fumes, the same is true for transom soot.

Boy it's a sign of the times I guess... I got more than double that for a pair of Chrysler 318's just 4 years ago and it happened in days with little effort. This guy just got a deal and a half... if he doesn't come through, he's an idiot.
