After running a 35B for many years my goal is to restore and replace stuff with the lightest products I can buy. The hatches I would go with a foam board product. I am luck here I have a buddy who does fiberglass resto's so I can get the stuff pretty cheap or use scraps. By the way the red rubber ga...

Gauge problem. Check grounds. By all means install mechanical gauges. I have oil, water temp and transmission pressure installed in the engine room. When an electrical gauge acts up I just check the mechanicals in the engine room. The 3208 has several places to connect the mechanical gauges.

The plywood is not the problem it is the way it sits on the sill. Bertram used a one piece teak sill plate with very little slope. Over the years the teak plank cupps and redirects the water under the plywood where the end grain just sucks it up. The fix is very very easy.

I went to Northern tool. Bought original type cast iron for I think $7.00 dollars each. The original one was destroyed when I was replacing the rudder. It lasted 25 years so why spend close to 100 bucks when 7 bucks is all you need to spend? but then again it's your money

Sounds like you got some crap growing in your tank. Fairly common. Hit it with some Clorox and flush with freshwater. Every once in a while mine gets a little funky and the bleach does the trick. You can also buy stuff at worstmarine that will solve the problem.

If it was while you were running it was the stern alarm. If your buddy checked the bilge in the salon he would not see the water depth at the transom. I forgot to turn on my stern pump to auto and after a while the alarm started to go off every now and then. Flicked the switch to auto and the alarm ...

I got my canvas guy to make a cover. I have in place all the time except when it's time to fish. Even then the cover is in place 95% of the time. It is nice to open things up especially when I am striper fishing by myself.

Bertram realized the mail boxes were not a good idea and discontinued them before my 1984 model year. What I dislike the most about the mailbox aside from the delamination issues are the unsightly black streaks on the sides of the hull. Just ugly. Something I found by google. Even under maximum load...

Thanks Doug. I thought so. Diesels make almost NO CO. A small diesel genny would have to have serious issues to make CO. Most genny diesels are naturals that have no air filters, just screens. The chance of making CO and then that CO getting into a confined area is just about zero. Placing a genny i...

Yes you can crawl around the front of the motors and lay next to the engines. I am 6'2" but I cut down to 190. I would like to get to 185; but with Thanksgiving and Christmas I will have to wait until next year. My 3208's are T's at 300HP. All the 35's seem to have 300HP from the factory and th...

When mine needed replaced I just went to Home Depot and got a little 12 gallon job for right around $100 bucks. Just googled Home Depot. No dice. Lowes has a 12 gallon for $239.00 Damn inflation. What the hell is the government talking about deflation and the need to print 600,000,000,000 billion do...

Hi Jeff, Got a question. Was your boat repowered with the Cats or did it come from the factory with the external regs and the smaller water pump. All the 35B's I have looked at had the internal voltage regs and the larger pump. Just curious as I often look at boats for folks. Usually 35B though. Tha...
