Re: Happy Holiday
Very Happy Holidays & great & healthy New Year to all. Quiet isn't the word. More like dead. I think most of the old timers like us have moved on At this stage I don't think many are still doing their own maintenance, so no one is asking any questions. Al Additionally, very few "younge...

Re: Exhaust leak
Hi Justin,
Sorry to hear about your leak. What year is your boat? Gas or diesel? You may be able to access it by removing the side cockpit panel. It's been awhile since I've been in there, but you may get lucky.

Re: rebuild or replace
The other questions are:
What year is your boat?
Why did the engine seize?
What material is your fuel tank made of?
What I'm getting at here is did your engine fail because of ethanol and a dissolving fuel tank? You don't want to replace any engines until you rule out the fuel tank.

Re: Diesel prop size?
I'm not sure I'd go up on the diameter, but you could certainly add an inch of pitch or add cup (which is like adding pitch). Cheaper to try those 2 things than adding diameter!

Re: Shower Drain
Thank you sir.
That seems like it would be hard to get to from the part of the bilge where the fresh water tank is, but I'll give it another look.

Shower Drain
I suspect that the drain in my head is leaking right at the underside of the drain. Has anyone ever dealt with trying to tighten that hose clamp before? You can't even see where that hose connects to the bottom of the drain.

Re: Diesel prop size?
Welcome aboard.
Can't really answer this question without more info. What's the current prop size (diameter, pitch, blade count) and what is your trans ratio?

Dominque,
Welcome to the forum and sorry for your troubles. I think your best bet would be to contact Danny at Hightide Marine in Miami to see what he has to offer. If you're not familiar with him, he's got a lot of the old Bertram molds for parts as well as some New Old Stock.
Good luck!

Re: Breaking the ice
Hello all. Tony, As you also boat up here in New England, the season sucked. At least it sucked for a still working guy that can only go out on the weekends. Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends were great, but everything in between was terrible. The weather on most weekends was either complete dog s...

That's a good point Bill. We do have snaps for a windscreen. I'll take a look at those.

Re: Leak
Thanks Boys. I know in really heavy rain the side windows where they meet the windshield will leak, but i's it not like it's pouring in. I can't see how it could make it's way to the lower bunk without leaving some sort of trail. It's coming out on Sat so I'll have to get out there w a hose next sea...
