All I could find on the dang thing after pulling it out in frustration, was 2/0 SAE written about every 2 feet. But its all good, I'm going to replace it all after seeing IRGuy's writeup in the tips section. After I pulled this one out, it revealed another 2/0 wire that was labled 'Welding Cable'. I...

Ok thanks guys. IRGuy, your work is immaculate. Great job. I love the ends you used on the wires, where can you get these? I'm re-doing all the wiring now since I found 'welding cable 2/0' for my stbd engine.

custom battery box

I just tore out the old rotten battery box that was really way to large anyway. Does anyone have any good ideas or pictures on a custom one? I'm looking to fit three group 31 batteries side by side. I really dont' want to build a boring rectangle with a lid. Any cool ideas? Thanks

wire temperature ratings

I was looking through the abyc standards for wiring and I saw that it says that 60c wiring temperature is not acceptable in engine rooms. All the 2/0 wires in my boat have written on them 2/0 SAE. I was wondering if these are correct? Thanks.

Wow guys, thanks for all the help. I do have a lower helm and that's where most of my problems are. I have removed most of the unused wires but I too have the problem of the loose terminal blocks on the back wall, looking underneath the helm from the front. First of all, they are hard to get to, and...

wiring schematic

I was wondering if anybody has an original wiring schematic for a 1977 bertram 33 convertable. I would like to correct all the wiring on the boat. Thanks.

I took one of the heads off and the piston that the pushrods broke, it turned out to be a leaking manifold which rusted the valves and rusted stuck. I haven't gotten to the other head yet but a set of pushrods are also broken on that side. I think it's kind of weird that I could have two leaking man...

tank delamination

Well I think the plague has hit. About three weeks ago, I ran both of my motors and the stbd one had a slight ticking when it was cold but the went away, although I never left the dock with it. I try to run them at least once a week but this time, I couldn't get down there for three weeks. So yester...

Sorta late but if anyone is looking into the atl bladders, I purchased a 150 gallon bladder for the back of my pickup, and to use on the bow of the bertram when needed. I have to say, it is very high quality and I'm even thinking of putting a small one in the bow as the aux tank. I think it would be...

the only way that you could just elevate the motor itself is if it is like this in the strut also.

The only sweet smelling odor (oxymoron) I know of is antifreeze. Other than that, I can't help you out, sorry.

Same here. I was just about to do this because the gauge on top of the tank just stopped moving a couple of days ago and I was wondering if all 20 (exaggerated) bolts need to come off the top of the tank to remove the sensor. Also, can just regular 4200 be put back on in the gasket's place?
