sad day for new owner

I had sold the ShotnBeer to a guy down in virgina, not to far from where I had bought it. He was able to use it for a yr. He took it down to North carolina and was using the organ inlet for the tuna run that was going on. Unfortunately the sand shouls ar moving daily. This was the end result:

Getting those bolts out can be a pita. What I did was dremal the heads off with a cutting wheel, slide the manifold down on the studs and use a pair of vise grips to pull the studs out of the head. There is nothing worst than having to drill out a broken bolt. Of course try and remove with the right...

If you go the route of alternator with the regulator, make sure its an 80 amp. Most are standard 50 amp. I had my alternators upgraded to 80 amp outputs when I had them rebuilt 3 yrs ago. It allows better battery charging when you are running without the gen on and you are useing alot of the 12 volt...

Sent an email to Len and he stated that the mechanic incresed the rack setting on the pump. He is going to check his records and get back to me. I also have the same series as yours Sean. Isnt yours a 260 hp turbo? I wonder if the lower horse power units have diffrent pumps. Mike

Sean, he did not mention anything about his pumps. He said that the fuel settings were adjusted, new injectors were installed and the aftercoolers were put in. I will check with him to see if his pumps needed to be replaced. Mike

Sorry Doug, that was one thing that wasnt discussed. I think in the near future, next yr. , I might do an out of boat engine clean up. The article had pics of the motors out of the boat and in the boat. Tell you the truth the install looked pretty easy. The aftercoolers are no higher than the top of...

3208t owners

When I was reseaching the issues that I was having someone directed me to a magazine called Bg game journel. The editor has a Rampage that he had 3208t 300 hp. He upgraded the motors by installing an aftercooler, injectors and some fuel adjustments. Brought the boat from a 19 20 kt boat to a 24 25 k...

Bill, Long story on my situation. Have a seat. In the beginning I installed flowscans, egt and boost and because of the #'s I was getting last yr I decided to redo my props. The reading last yr were when I did not have the before mentioned upgrades. Needed to reduce WOT loaded rpm's by 100 rpm. Geat...

If you think its pulling air, install a clear line from your racor to the secondary filter and see if there are any air bubbles. The pump should be putting out 30 psi. At idle it may be alittle low but once you start increaseing rpm it will go to 30. If not then you need to look at any internal wear...

Frank, There are 2 check valves in the ip that I had to replace. I'm the guy who had the channel locks on the return side to maintain pressure. If you use this as a fix don't. I only did it because I had a group I was taking to the canyon. When I got back I immediatly had them replaced. New upgrade ...

Doug, Your right, they actually run at 875 deg. I checked it out this weekend. Boost still does not seem to work. I hope its the gages and not the turbo's. Did'nt move them to the engine room yet. Ran the boat up to the rocks on sat and limited out on stripers. Total fuel burn round trip, 36 miles w...

Got to check them out this week end and let me tell you boys, they are perfecto. If you do not have digital tachs get them. have a good grasp on fuel burn after 60 gallons. I can already tell that these are going to work out really well. The digital tachs really let you sinc the motors in with in 10...

I just had them make it so I don't roll the whole front up, just eyebrow snap ups. It works great, you do miss the wide open effect but you always have a clear veiw. Mike
