GlassTech in Miami matched mine. Check with them and they will likely sell and send you some.

Mike, Have you had the chance to install the FloScans? Was it easier or harder than expected? R.

My boat only has zincs on the shafts. I had a qualified marine electrician from one of the local custom boat builders come by and check and measure the effectiveness of my bonding system. He said all checked out well. I was also concerned about not having zincs on my rudders. He explained that they ...

Symeon, The 38 is a popular boat for a repower and you are right it is a lovely boat to spend the day on (or the week for that matter). Handling the lines is where I find the challenge operating the 38 solo. By the time I get the bow line taken care of and scurry up to the bridge, the boat has begun...

I have a 1983 B38 that is powered by 300hp 3208 Cats. If you are not in a big hurry, the 300hp engines are fine. Depending on load, I can cruise in the high teens without any trouble. I spend most of my time operating at trolling speed. R.

Bob, I would like to look into using those floors in my boat. Would you mind providing us with more details and your final thoughts? Things that come to mind; Price availablity installation challenges and who do you call to install vinyl flooring things you would do the same and those you would chan...

My last boat had a run in with termites also. I used Tomasello pest control base in West Palm Beach to take care of it. They tented the boat while it was still in the water. It ended up not being too big a deal. Chuck, the owner of Tomasello explained that termites in boats is not to uncommon in Flo...

Larry, When you get the chance post some pics of the Merritt. We are Bertram guys but who does not like a Merritt? I have one of the guys from Merritt coming over to my house this week. Merritts are big bucks but so is any other piece of fine art. While I enjoy looking at fine art, a Merritt is fine...

Larry, I am sure the guys at Merritt would be helpful. They would likely give you a real clear idea as to what to expect with your different engine options as well as answer the countless other questions you will come up with as you take on the job. Robert

The more I know my teak the more I miss my mica!

Maybe it will not be that bad, time will tell. I wanted to redo the galley; new range, new fridge, etc. I decided to replace the dated 1983 mica in the galley and v-birth with teak while I was at it. For anyone considering it, it takes a bunch of time. Lots of sealer, prep, and varnish. I am sure it...

I love the idea, I looked at a 39 Hatteras that was built that way at the factory. There was a 37 Bertram built that way for sale on the west coast listed on yachtworld. It might still be listed as things are not selling very well now. A few weeks ago Glass Tech had a newer 36 that they removed the ...

Doug, So far all indications are the 38 is going to treat me real well. The more I get into it the more I like it. It seems pretty much like a 33 FBC with just a tad more cockpit. Cruise looks like it will be around 20 knots with the 300 hp Cats. But I will confirm that after running the boat a bit ...

Rick, You have a nice boat. If that is the one previously named Poco Mas, I was hoping to buy it and bring it to Florida. Tom, the previous owner, was very nice and I told him if the deal he was working on fell through to give me a call and I would run over there and get it. Congrats on your new boa...
