Doug, Per Tred Barta, we have the best albacore fishing on the planet (he came up to OR this year). My best day this year was a local tuna tournament, where we put 57 tuna on the deck- it could have been 157 if we had storage. Livebait fishing in the NW is fast and furious. I think I only had three ...

Doug, You must not do too much school tuna fishing. When we have five tuna hooked up, the 92 square foot cockpit gets real small, real fast. It would be nice to have more deck space, as things get real crowded in a wide open bite- We have had to quit fishing a number of times this year because we ha...

Thanks for the info guys. I really like the idea of a wide open cockpit salon, as my boat is used 100% for fishing. There are a ton of boats in Cabo that have been converted into day boats and it is a great way to get out of the sun, but still have quick access to the cockpit. The coolest boat I hav...

Rear bulkhead removal

I have been eying the charter boat across from me at the marina in Cabo and starting to get some dumb ideas for my 35'. The charter boat is a convertible with the rear bulkhead removed, turning it into a day boat, just like the photos of the one in the other thread. I never intend to spend the night...

I would avoid shipping if you can. If I was going to keep my boat forever, it would have been worth it, as I ended up with a clean boat that was dry stored indoors. As I am selling it now, there is no way I will get the extra $$ back. It was around $15K when all was said and done and that is a prett...

35' for sale, $59K

Just when I have everything dialed in on my boat, I have decided I need 10 more feet so I can run south to Mexico in the winter. Boat is a proven fish raiser and there is no better hull than a Bertram. To learn more about Bertrams, go to www.yachtsurvey.com Boat has HUGE 92 sq ft cockpit, which easi...

Mistersea, Thanks for the info on the hulltruth. I will try listing it there and on some of the local fishing pages. Oregon is probably a hard place to sell a boat like this, but with "the world's best albacore fishing" (Tred Barta) sooner or later people are going to figure out that Bertr...

Thanks for the input guys. I was kind of thinking mid 50's. I am in no big rush, as I am still tuna fishing two times a week right now and the albacore run is pretty good this year (30 tuna per trip average). Hopefully my itch for a bigger boat will go away, but I doubt it. At least it is a very goo...

Thanks for the info guys. I know I am going to take a beating, but my practice is going pretty well and I am single so now is the time to step up to a bigger boat. My long term plan is to get into a 50' and fish marlin tournaments in Mexico. I am thinking a 42' would be a good interim step as it wou...

What is my 35' Worth?

The bug has struck again and I have 7 foot itis and want a 42' or a 46. I want to go WAY off shore to chase exotics and want a bigger boat to do it in. I have a 1979 35 in very good condition- prior to my buying it it was a NE boat that was dry stored indoors during the winter. It has the following....

What is my 35' Worth?

The bug has struck again and I have 7 foot itis and want a 42' or a 46. I have a 1979 35 in very good condition. It has the following. 2 Raymarine E-80's and one E120 Raymarine smart pilot installed last year. Two big blocks with 250 hours each (both a year old). Glasstech cockpit sole, bulkhead, do...

I think the ATL webpage answered my question. I was looking at their photos and noticed that the bladder was on the cockpit sole of a 35' Bertram. 500 gallons would take all of the worry out of running out 120 miles on an overnight trip to see what is out there (they have caught marlin and swords wa...

Fuel bladders

I have a dumb idea of going WAY offshore but would like to carry more fuel than the 369 gallons of gas my (custom) fuel tank will hold. Anyone run with a fuel bladder? Anyone have any idea if my glasstech sole will hold up with a 1,000lbs of fuel? How about a bladder in the bow? I can't wait for a $...
