I repowered a 1980 SF with Cummins 330B. I would highly recommend these engines. Headed to the Canyon heavily loaded I cruise at 23kts burning 21-22 GPH. The only non-routine repair in the first 650 hours has been a rebuilt alternator. A total overnight Canyon trip will be ROUGHTLY 180 nm roundtrip ...

I repowered a 33 sf with cummins 330B. I get 23- 24 kt cruies @ 2400. I used 21X22 3b props with a cup and 1.5" aq 22 shafts. Top speed is 29.5 kts at 2950 (I know under propped but I prefer it that way). Are you sure you're not overpropped with 25" of pitch on the 370's? What's the top RP...

I have a 33sf with Cummins 330B (315 HP) and ZF 1.53:1. I an currently using 21X22 3 blade props with a #5 cup. I can turn about 2925 RPMs. I am a little underpropped but I prefer it that way. I would imagine 21X23 would be just about right. Eric

Ken, I kept the side exhausts when I Repowered. I already had six inch exhausts out the stern as well. I used the existing muffler with the following modifications: 1. I cut out the 5" input flange and glassed in a 6" flange on each muffler. 2. I drilled a 1.5" hole through the baffle...

Ken, Oceanside is in Nassau County on the South Shore. The marina was Crow's Nest. I just went down to the boat and dug out all the snow. I guess the season's over! I'm going to pull it out next week. Good luck, Eric

Ken, Gears are ZF IRM220A 1.53:1; shafts are 1.5" Aquamet22, props are 21X22 3 Blades with a #5 cup. Its slightly underpropped but I like it better that way. I can turn 2950 RPMs max. This was a repower (gas to deisel) that I had done by a Marina in Oceanside, NY. Are you local? I think they di...

I've had poor fuel consumption @ 16 Knots in both Gas and Deisel Bertram 33's. They are not fully planing. They seem to do better at 19-20 knots. With Cummins 330Bs I cruise at 20 knots on about 18 gph combined. When I cruise at 16 knots its about 16 gph. Eric

Oops posted that previous reply by accident. I cruise 23- 24 knots depending how heavily loaded (2400 RPMs). As far as a gennie I went with a new Northern Lights 5kw. quote:Originally posted by dougl33 Eric, What do you cruise at with the Cummins and what did you do about the gennie? Regards, Doug L...

I repowered a 33 sf with 330 B's. They fit with no modification to the engine boxes. I used the original struts with new cutlass bearings for 1.5" shafts. It's a great boat with these engines. I can easily Canyon fish from Long Island and have plenty of reserve fuel. If you have any questions s...
