it embarrases me to admit she is supposed to represent me. i'm in for e85 as soon as they give ME a 50% tax credit on new engines and 100% tax credit for new fuel tanks which we will ALL need.

and if you evaporate the gas layer and drink the ethanol, which is kind of like moonshine, the leaking tanks make you laugh.

i conducted a little experiment of my own. in november i took 2 glasses, filled 1 with gas/ethanol and put a strip of the fuel tank in it. filled the other with gas/ethanol, forced phase separation, and put a strip of fuel tank in it. the 2 glasses were left in my unheated garage with saran wrap lay...

sorry i can't help with the specific year or models with the problem. when i was at the yard i was only concerned with THE problem not the WHO aspect. most of the people i have spoken with who have a problem (all hatteras owners) started in the (2005) spring when using the winter stored fuel. i do k...

the years that are being affected are anything pre 1985/1986. one of these years seems to be the magic one, where at least hatteras (or subcontractor) changed their resin formula to something more resistant. the betrams/hatteras' i have either seen or heard of with problems are late 60's to mid 70's...

doug, thanks. running 427 ford chris crafts and yes i have glass tanks. went thru the ordeal last summer (2005) of bending pushrods and scratching my head as to what was going on.
