As I recall it was 1/2 inch, I used manufactured hatches from a marine salvage place in Fla. - they were unused but were the only long and thin ones I could find at the time although weren't as long as original. The only problem was that I shot them off of the bottom of the panel so they follow the ...

If you're replacing the panels, I used PVC board painted with awlgrip and some manufactuered hatchs, had a heck of time finding long & skinny also consider replacing the wooden cleat they are screwed to on the bottom edge with a strip of starboard, I added a couple of larger gaps for drainage, t...

The length should be stamped within a foot or of the end, as I recall there will be number that's the length in inches (144 = 12')for the old red 33C type cables. If you're lucky it'll be on engine/trans end otherwise pull the control head, there should enough slack to pull it thru the bridge and se...

Thanks John, they'll work for my purposes. BTW your new one looks great, would love to do the same thing but just started a canvas business and that's out of my range right now. As far as p/u I don't mind a ride up the shore at all could meet you anywhere N of Salisbury or wherever is good for you. ...

Hi John, do you have pictures to post, mine are "OK-ish" but it would be nice to have a set to rebuild without having to figure a way to secure the house. Thanks, Alan

John, Frank thanks for the replys. Frank that's exactly what I was looking for, the skinny fingers will be an issue. I'll crawl up under the cabnitery and look, I think I may have missed my opportunity when putting tackle drawers in the port rear area where the refridge compressor was orginally. Joh...

Vents / Cowl removal

Anyone removed them, I'm getting ready to paint the topsides (fairing about done, new bow rail ordered) and I'd like to take them out and blast/alodine/paint. Have crawled up under there a bunch of times and never really looked like a quick way. br, Alan.

I removed them and rebuilt (rot) several years ago - remove the outside trim, remove the screws across the top and bottom and there are two bolts in the pilaster on the sides, had to go through the pilasters on the outside and the electric junction area on the stbd interior and remove the cabinet on...

Noted that there was true 35 express listed within the last year - probably fire damaged. The Sundowner in HI (Norm Issacs's old rig) had the the bulkhead removed, looked like a real plan to me. There was a 36' Express at the Annapolis boat show back in the 90s maybe that I fell in love with. When I...

Bob, have you found any zincs on them? I haven't found the first one, good post on fuel cooler tho, of course they're buried next to the stringer on mine and will be nearly impossible to service. You'd think they would make those engineers in Fond-du-Lac turn a wrench for a few weeks before giving t...

I've used Petit barnacle block for the past couple of years (S. Ches Bay) - it's just a spray on zinc and it's worked as well as anything I've tried over the last 20 years - admittedly haven't tried cold ceramic nor propspeed - but have done all manner of bottom paint systems including red pepper fl...

FWIW, you may want to think about PVC board - not structural either, much lighter than starboard, takes awlgrip really nice, cheaper, glue it with pipe pvc cement - be quick!, avoids staining like starboard. Downside is that it's softer so if you're slinging large wieghts or have a tendancy to pitch...

There's a water puppy type pump mounted to the plywood sole over the water tank with hose running down to a bronze strainer in the sump. Ithink that's what you're referring to. BR, Alan.

Randy, be sure to do a mock up, i was going to build one like that when redoing the bridge but found I didn't like the line of site when sitting down - looks pretty slick tho'. Ended up using some internet based aluminuim panel cutting outfit to redo the orginal instrument panel, they just didn't me...

John, did they have additional doors? I priced the canadian ones and they were about (aboot?) 2.5K a year ago, probably 3k now. If they had more please point in the direction. Thanks, Alan.
