Has anyone cut a transom door into a Bert 35?

My boat sure would be a lot easier to use if I had a transom door. Does the Bertram 35 need a complete structure as built in order to be properly used? Can it handle a transom door being added? My transom was professionally reinforced when the St. Croix davits were added to the boat. I would not put...

At 18 knots I am turning 2750-2850 and burning low 20's in gallons per hour. If you crank her up to 3200 you will see 27-29 GPH. That 400 rpm makes a big difference in the burn on my boat.I have twin rebuilt original 454 mere's upgraded to Crusader specs/parts. The castings are Merc.

Thank you for the input, it was very helpful. Crabbycraig, did you only remove the props? No removal of shafts, struts, or rudders? Also, if possible can you tell me what it cost you to move the boat that distance? Thank you for any help I might get.

Shipping a Bert 35 remove running gear windshield

Has anyone shipped a Bertram by removing the props, rudders, shafts, and windshield/steering wheel? Must the bridge be removed? Thanks for any help I might get.
